Attitudes of Second-Year College Students That Influence Completion
Substantial attrition occurs in the second year of college. Explore the underlying attitudes behind this problem for students at two-year and four-year institutions
Download this report to examine the noncognitive attitudes, needs and challenges of today’s second-year college students that influence their persistence, retention, and college completion.

All findings are reported separately for male vs. female students and for students at four-year private, four-year public, and two-year public institutions. Data are based on student survey responses drawn from a sizable sample of second-year college students across the U.S. in 2014 and 2013.

The survey instrument used for this study was the Second-Year Student Assessment, a noncognitive, motivational survey that is part of the Ruffalo Noel Levitz Retention Management System Plus™.
