It's never been more important to understand what today's graduate students expect from the programs in which they enroll. The National Student Clearinghouse recently reported strong YoY growth at the graduate level for spring 2021, following similar growth last fall - the two pandemic semesters. More schools than ever are competing for these students (to make up for undergraduate challenges), so only those schools that understand the demands, preferences, and decision-making preferences will benefit.
RNL's new Graduate Recruitment Report - which reports the findings of a survey of more than 1,500 prospective graduate student profiles:
- What type of program in which they are planning to enroll (credential, format, schedule, etc.)
- How they go about this search - what channels they connect with more frequently.
- How they research and consider programs
- How they make their enrollment decisions - what is important (and what is not)
- What their expectations are in terms of responses from program recruiters (channel, timing, etc.), and the effect that speedy response has on enrollment decisions
What emerged from the survey is a template of what successful institutions will need to do in order to benefit from this enrollment boom. With more institutions and programs vying for a still limited total market, the institutions that can ensure that programs, marketing strategies, and enrollment tactics are the best aligned with student expectations and priorities will be in the best position to benefit from recent trends.
Scott Jeffe will discusses implications of the 10 most important findings with Heather Petridis, a seasoned enrollment leader with more than 25 years experience spanning both public and private education.
